[News]Pretty Man,Jang Keun Suk ,a 3minutes crying out tha made the viewers breathless

Hello Pretty EELs

An actor Jang Keun Suk created the best scene with a ‘3 minute crying out’ that contains the delicate acting of inner psychology.

In the 14th episode of KBS 2TV ‘The Pretty Man’ that airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays, which aired on January 2nd, Dokgo Ma Te (Jang Keun Suk) was shown collapsing from shock as he found out that he is a real son who of Na Hong Ran (Kim Bo Yeon) in which Na Hong Ran has abandoned, not the son of a concubine of MG Group.

With a tired look in his face, Jang Keun Suk went to the place where the bones of his mother Kim Mi Sook (Yang Mi Kyung), a mother who raised him, is buried and said “Am I not your son? Then, who am I? Who are you?” and shouted out in sorrow. When shooting this scene, it was said that Jang Keun Suk showed his skills of showing tears after he immediately concentrated on the scene and have took control of the shooting site. To such masterpiece acting, it was heard that the staff members around him were left speechless for a long time.

Meanwhile, in the end of the drama this day, Ma Te realized his love toward Bo Tong and it ends at the part where he runs to her and hugs her tight, giving rise to viewers’ excitement. The 15th episode of ‘The Pretty Man’ will be on air at 10pm on January 8th.

[News]Jang Keun Suk Effect, KBS’s “Beautiful Man” Signed Contracts for Copyright with 8 Countries

Hello Pretty EELs

KBS 2TV Drama “Beautiful Man” stars with Asia Prince JKS has got copyright contracts from 8 countries.

Dec 11, the “Beautiful Man” producer said they have got from copyright orders from Japan, China, Taiwan, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Philippine 8 countries/areas. Japan and China even before the drama debut had already interested in buying. After the drama started to show, it has gained lots of interest from all over the world. So except these countries, some other countries are also undergoing copyright contract signing.

For “Beautiful Man” the reaction from Korea and overseas is totally different. In Korea, the viewer rating only 5% but overseas market just because it is labeled with Jang Keun Suk’s name so the drama is so welcomed. Group 8, the drama production company said: “Before the première, some overseas contract proposal have come already, during signing, they don’t care about the rating in Korea. Because of Hallyu star Jang Keun Suk’s power has brought overseas copyright contracts. Drama You’re Beautiful (2009), Love Rain (2012) and movie You’re My Pet (2011) etc all had great overseas responses. So naturally, they will also looking forward to this drama.”

In fact, Jang Keun Suk’s drama in Korea normally the ratings are all single digit, but since he has huge fan numbers in Asia so overseas sales are always good. Before, drama You are Beautiful was shown on China biggest TV channel CCTV, Thailand BBTV, Philippine ABS-CBN, Singapore MATV all have gained great viewers responses. Love Rain also before it was broadcasted it has sold with record high 9000 million won by Japan, which shocked the show business industry. So this time, people are also wondering what price will rise up for “Beautiful Man”.

(Note: according to Philippine eel, You’re Beautiful was shown on ABS-CBN network not GMA)

Poster shoots and stills for Pretty Man

More photos from Pretty Man, this time from the drama proper as well as its poster shoots. I must say, while the story still seems riddled with question marks, the pictures do look super cute, featuring our lead couple played by Jang Geun-seok and IU. (I don’t understand in what universe she could be considered completely and utterly ordinary-looking, but I suppose it’s fiction for a reason.)
And this is a shallow point, but I know I am not the only one rejoicing at the new haircut for Jang Geun-seok. Huzzah for sharpness and sleekness and change! I don’t actually dislike the long wavy shampoo-commercial tresses on him—it’s just that he’s had the same look for so long that I missed how it was back in the day when he was rocking a new style for every project. (Or week to week, as in the case of You’re Beautiful where he went through hairstyle concepts on a regular basis.)

The scene on the bus pictured directly below actually comes from a flashback segment (which explains the hairdo change), when middle schooler Kim Bo-tong (IU) first sees the high schooler oppa and is smitten with adolescent puppy love, kicking off a one-sided crush to span the next decade. Oh, honey. I feel for you, even though I know you’ll get your man at the end of 16 episodes. Hopefully sooner, to make up for all that lost time pining. But first, she’ll have to compete with all the top-tier successful ladies he’ll be romancing before he sees the light and falls for her back. Fingers crossed that the process makes sense and all that. With the director of Flower Boy Next Door and Flower Boy Ramyun Shop onboard, I’m hoping for fun, zippy things to come.
Pretty Man will air on KBS following Secret and premieres on November 20.

First teaser and more stills for Pretty Man

The first teaser is out for Pretty Man, along with a few more couple stills, and while I still don’t really know what the story is going to be (other than one man going after ten women using his extensive “dating know-how”), the tone looks pretty cute. Light, fluffy, and hopefully zippy.
The teaser’s pretty brief, and just shows us the moment our average heroine (IU) first laid eyes on the prettiest boy she ever did see (Jang Geun-seok), back when she was a middle schooler and he was in high school. I love that he gets the shampoo hair model edit, wavy locks flowing in the breeze.

As far as rivals go she’s got a pretty formidable one in the older, richer, more glamorous Han Chae-young, but something tells me our main couple is going to have all the chemistry. At least I hope so; I tend to groan when we have an ordinary heroine pining so one-sidedly over the hero, but I’m crossing my fingers that IU can pull it off while being more endearing than pathetic. The teaser makes reference to Jang Geun-seok employing his knowledge of women to win them over in “the pretty man’s dizzying dating game—dating to achieve success.” Details are, as ever, deliberately vague (booo—I can’t get excited about it if I don’t know what it is!).

Pretty Man premieres on November 20.
