Jang Keun Suk has been invited to a special year-end concert in China.

According to Jang Keun Suk’s agency, the singer/actor will perform on Hunan TV’s year-end special concert. The yearly concert invites China’s top stars to appear and aired on 16 different broadcasting stations in China last year.

In this year’s concert, Jang Keun Suk and his project group Team-H will appear where they will perform three songs, hold an interview time and show a surprise performance as well.

Jang Keun Suk also has the distinction of being the lone Korean singer to be invited on the show.

MANILA, Philippines - Who will be crowned Korea's style icon this year?

From K-pop stars to sports figures, the nominees for the Style Icon Awards 2012 are a mix of the most popular celebrities in Korea.

Billed as a search for the "Most Stylish Icons that Brightened 2012," the Style Icon Awards will culminate in an awarding ceremony on Oct. 25.

Some 50 candidates have been chosen in 10 categories. Of them, 10 "will be chosen will be chosen by an executive committee comprised of 100 style specialists (40%), research preferences (30%) and online votes (30%). The celebrity with the most points will take home the ‘Style Icon of the Year’ award," according to ENews World.

Last year, actor Cha Seung Won won as the Style Icon of the Year. It was in 2011 when he solidified his status as an actor through the hit drama "The Greatest Love."

This year, the nominees include singers, actors and comedians.

For the First Love Fantasies category, the nominees are singers Busker Busker, Seo In Guk, Suzy and Jung Eunji, and actor Lee Je Hoon.

Actor Jang Dong-gun is nominated in the Charming Older Men category along with Kim Yun Seok, Ryu Seung Ryong, Son Hyeon Ju and Yoo Joon Sang.

Nominated in the World Dominators category are 2NE1, rapper Psy, Super Junior, Big Bang, Girls' Generation, and actors Lee Byung Hun and Jang Geun Suk.

The Men That Drive Us Crazy are Kim Soo Hyun, Song Joong Ki, So Ji Sub, Lee Min-ho, Lee Seon Kyun and Ha Jung Woo.

Categorized under Trend Setting Beauties are Kim Nam Joo, Kim Ha Neul, Kim Min Hee,  Kim Hee Sun, Jun Ji-hyun and Im Soo Jung.

Sports stars nominated under the Nation′s Representatives category are swimmer Park Tae Hwan, gymnast Son Yeon Jae, gymnast Yang Hak Seon and football star Hong Myung Bo.

The Worship-Worthy Idols are BEAST, Shinhwa, Sistar, CN Blue, Infinite and f(x).

Nominees under the Motivating Socialtainers are Gong Hyo-jin, Lee Hyori and Cha In Pyo.

On the other hand, nominated under the Comic Geniuses category are Shin Dong Yup, Shin Bora, Yoo Jae Suk, and Hyung Don and Dae June.

The Hot Rising Stars are Kim Jun Hyun, Yun Jin Yi, Lee Hui Jun and Jo Jeong Seok.

The Four ‘New Hallyu Kings’ of 2012

In 2011, we witnessed the coming of the strongest Korean wave ever. Now it’s 2012, but the wave is showing no signs of stopping, as the love of overseas fans for Korean stars refuse to cool down.

And so for the New Year, the January 2 broadcast of Mnet’s Wide Entertainment News revealed a list of four ‘New Hallyu Kings’. They’re going to be familiar names you’ve seen a lot, of course, so let’s dive right in.

The first star to be listed is Kim Hyun Joong. Called ‘the little Bae Yong Joon’ in Japan for his resemblance to the original hallyu star, Kim is currently enjoying a reputation that also rivals that of Bae.

Kim was acknowledged as Korea’s representative solo singer in Japan after his album rose to the top of the Oricon Weekly Foreign Album Chart, and as he’s planning to release an official Japanese single album in January with Universal Japan, J-Pop and Japanese advertisement officials have their eyes fixed on him, trying to gauge when they can carry him away for their keeping.

The second on the list is Lee Min Ho. Lee started to concentrate his activities in Chinese-speaking countries since September, when City Hunter came to a close, and gathered a solid fanbase for himself with fanmeetings and modeling spots in the country.

The heat is expected to reach out to Japan. As City Hunter is a dramatization of a manga that hasn’t even been remade in Japan yet, and as it made a big success in Korea, it’s only going to be a matter of time before Lee takes over Japan, also.

Of course, we can’t leave out the Prince of Asia, Jang Keun Suk. With his drama You’re Beautiful, Jang is enjoying a popularity in East Asian regions including Japan and China that matches that of Bae Yong Joon in his heyday. His cute image and friendly approaches show him to be of a character never before seen by overseas fans, providing them with a breath of fresh air.

Yoo Ah In is also quickly rising as a new leader. The DVD for the drama Sungkyunkwan Scandal, which stars Yoo, recorded the highest rental rates in Japan, proving that he will be having many rewards to reap in the future.

Although Yoo is the latest addition to the list of ‘hallyu kings’, his appearance in the upcoming drama Fashion King may indeed come to crown him as a king if it succeeds.

 These are the winners for 48th Paeksang arts award. Korea celebrated dramas and movies last thursday april 26.The Paeksang Arts Awards (Baeksang Arts Awards), and the stars came out in droves to celebrate. The award event held at the Seoul Olympic Hall.

The award ceremony, which was established in 1965, is one of the oldest award ceremonies in Korea and is the only ceremony that celebrates television and movies.
 So who was honored this year?
 In film category Jang Keun Suk and Kang Sora won as Popular actor/actress award.

In Television category Park yoon chun and Park shin Hye won as Popular actor/actress award. Emcee’s question: Which actress would you like to work with most in a movie?

JKS: I’ve acted with Park Shin-hye already, so I hope to act with Kang Sora.

[NEWS]Jang Keun Suk won Most Attractive Movie Actor in the 48th Paeksang Arts Awa

 Actor Jang Keun Suk was recently selected as a winner in the 48th Paeksang Arts Awards.

 Jang is to be awarded Most Attractive Movie Actor with the voting of 49.4 % for the movie actor in the awards, which will be held on April 26. The attractive actor was listed on the nominees with his movie You’re My Pet and competed with other nominees, including Shin Ha Kyun and Gong Yoo.
 The You’re My Pet star will be honored with the crown, which is the third one for him, followed by the first one in 2008 and the second one in 2010. Jang Keun Suk is starring in KBS2’s Monday-Tuesday series Love Rain as photographer Seo Joon. The multitalented star is also ready to expand his career as a singer. Jang’s first Japanese album, titled Just Crazy, is to be out on May 30th and his Asia tour titled The Cri Show 2 is to begin with a kickoff in Seoul in July.
