Hallyu actor and singer Jang Geun Suk has donated 100 million won (P4.12 million) to help survivors of super typhoon “Yolanda” in the Philippines.
Jang Geun Suk, who currently stars in the Korean drama “Beautiful Man,” gave his donation to UNICEF.
His agency, Tree J Company, said Jang Geun Suk made the donation as his appreciation for the fans all over the world who have given him love and support.
As of Dec. 2, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said 5,670 people were reported dead; 26,233 were injured; and 1,761 are missing in the aftermath of Typhoon “Yolanda.”
It said the cost of damage caused by the typhoon is now at P34.36 billion.
The star is known for his charity activities. He has donated to organizations such as World Vision.
Last month, his fans from different countries such as Taiwan, Japan, China, Malaysia and Argentina donated 16.66 tons of rice and other products when the actor held his press conference for “Beautiful Man.”
The items will be donated by the actor to those who are in need.
“Beautiful Man” started airing last Nov. 20. Jang Geun Suk plays the lead role of Dokgo Ma-Te, an ambitious man set to seduce 10 women in Korea. His co-stars are singer IU, Lee Jang Woo and Han Chae-young.
